Dean's Head Slope Remediation

Known as Dean's Head on the corner of Main Road, Sumner adjacent to Shag Rock, we were the main contractor engaged by the government to remove the 53,000m3 potential landslide that was threatening the integrity of key infrastructure below. This project was a combination of complex hilltop demolitions, bulk earthworks as well as the use of our 30t remote controlled diggers for working in the those extreme geotech risk situations.

This was a high profile project for the community at the time with the site having been protected by shipping containers for over 6 years up until completion of the project. There was often an audience perched in their deck chairs on the beach watching the project unfold.
