8 Kinsey Terrace

This was the first complex cliff top demolition to be carried out in the Port Hills Residential Red Zone following the Canterbury Earthquakes. The property was within a CERA s45 area meaning access was restricted and the site sat on a 140m high cliff top adjacent to an area of Geotechnical Mass Movement. The structure was a split level 3 storey, concrete & steel composite structure, with a significant amount of polystyrene insulation, which added to the environmental issues we faced on the hill top. We chose to use two remote controlled excavators with custom made arm extensions to demolish the property and the team onsite worked closely with the Geotechnical engineers & land surveyors to complete the work safely for our client MWHR / Vero.
